FSMTB Announces Change to Board of Directors 

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: November 17, 2015

Overland Park, Kan., November 17, 2015– The Federation of State Massage Therapy Boards (FSMTB) announced changes today to its board of directors. After serving since her election in 2014, Holly Foster has stepped down from her position on the board due to increasing professional obligations. Following the announcement, Ms. Foster’s fellow board members praised her leadership, passion to engage, and willingness to serve the Federation’s member boards.

“Holly’s insights and vibrant personality will be missed as the FSMTB moves forward,” said president, Karen Armstrong. “We are thankful that Holly is willing to continue to serve in a volunteer capacity for committees and we look forward to her continued engagement with the FSMTB.”

With Foster’s resignation, the Board of Directors has appointed Mr. David Cox, Vice President of the Maryland Board of Chiropractic and Massage Therapy Examiners, to fill the open seat until the next annual meeting in 2016. Mr. Cox has been an engaged volunteer with the Continuing Education Task Force, Nominating Committee, and currently the License Renewal Committee.

“The board of directors had the opportunity to appoint an extremely well qualified candidate to ensure continued excellence with the governance of the FSMTB,” said Armstrong. “Mr. Cox has always been a dedicated volunteer and supporter of FSMTB programs and we are grateful for his willingness to accept the appointment to serve on the board.”
