FSMTB to Present at the Institute for Credentialing Excellence Annual Conference

Overland Park, Kan., October 15, 2015– The Federation of State Massage Therapy Boards (FSMTB) will present at the Institute for Credentialing Excellence (ICE) Conference in Portland, Ore., October 27 – 30. FSMTB Executive Director, Dr. Debra Persinger, is part of two panel presentations that will focus on exam security. The presentations highlight the efforts of the FSMTB to prevent and counteract fraud and security breaches with the Massage & Bodywork Licensing Examination (MBLEx).

“The FSMTB has garnered a reputation for offering a licensing examination known for its best practices in fraud prevention in the regulatory community.” Dr. Persinger said. “The FSMTB is honored to have been selected to share our best exam security practices with leading licensing and certification professionals from across the country.”

The first presentation is entitled “Using Exam Design to Counteract the Risk of a Security Breach.” Dr. Persinger will present information on how the implementation of Computer Adaptive Testing can minimize the impact of a security breach. The second presentation is entitled “Google Glass, Bluetooth and Spy Glasses…Oh My!!!” Joined by Pearson VUE, Dr. Persinger will share the FSMTB’s approach toward identifying fraudulent activities and working with local law enforcement to ultimately protect the FSMTB’s intellectual property.
